Anti-Bias & Anti-Racism (ABAR)
Educators will understand the historical and systemic racist structures that create the American Education system. Through proper facilitation, our participants will engage in conversations about race and be prompted to reflect and dialogue about micro/macro aggressions that stem from our explicit/implicit bias. Strategies and pedagogical practices will be introduced to dismantle racism in school settings thus creating a safe culture for ALL our students.

The questions of how much to assess, what to assess, and what the purpose of assessment are essential questions educators grapple with at every level. This workshop provides an opportunity for educators to collaborate on assessment strategies that currently exist in your system, exposes attendees to new types of assessment, and helps educators come up with iterative plans of assessment.

In this workshop, educators, principals, or even district employees will run through scenarios to help develop an understanding of what restorative justice can look like in your school or workplace.

Relationship
Culturally Responsive Pedagogy is has a tenet of family and community relationships. When teaching the whole child (and not just the content), it is imperative to acknowledge and leverage a child’s home life for maximum success. This workshop shares with participants, parent stories, collaboration examples, and tools for including parents as educational partners.

Special Education Advocacy

IEP, 504, LRE, LEA, are all short terms for complex concepts related to Special Education. Our Firm helps schools, districts, teachers, support staff, and families understand what an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is and what it is not. We host workshops for educators to train them on running IEP meetings, connecting with families for positive results, and how to handle hostile situations. This workshop is great for beginning or seasoned Inclusion Specialists, Principals who would like to understand the Special Education Laws more clearly, or any educator working with this special population of students.

This workshop will walk you through the design process behind PBL and educators will leave with a deeper understanding of what PBL is and what it isn't, a toolkit of how to do PBL at your school, and a possible project to implement in the school year.

How can Principals, Vice Principals, Deans, or even superintendents work toward developing and sustaining equitable practices in their areas of education? This workshop is designed to help school leaders explore leadership, coaching teachers/staff, using data to support decision making, and most of all lead with compassion, understanding, and compliance with school/district/state policies.

Social Justice Curriculum in ALL grades

Social Justice is an endeavor for which we should all strive. It encompasses ideologies of equality, equity, upward mobility, and systemic change for the greater good. Who wouldn’t want that in their school? Well, having a strong social justice curriculum is a great place to start. This workshop moves to help educators at any grade level, any subject, and with any student population to incorporate social justice into their curriculum. Whether you have the freedom to create your own curriculum, or you are mandated to use an existing curriculum, social justice can be imbued in any system. We C.A.N. show you how!

Data Driven School Improvement
Data allows us a glimpse into our systems in a different capacity. It can be very informative, and when used correctly can identify inequities on a large scale level. This workshop aims to help schools think of new data to collect, interpret their existing data, and come up with actionable plans to address areas of improvement.
